You’ve seen toll free numbers on television advertisements, in the phone book, on billboards… but maybe you’re not exactly sure what they are for or how they work. This should help you get a better understanding:
A toll free number allows people to make phone calls without paying any fees for the call. So if you dial a toll free number, no matter where the location of the recipient is, you will not be charged for the call.
Charges for toll free calls are billed to the toll free subscriber- the owner of the toll free telephone number, and are often a business or a non-profit organization. It is possible for an individual to have a toll free number as well; you do not have to be a business to get one.
Toll free numbers started with the “800” numbers, sometimes referred to as “1-800” numbers, because you have to dial a one before the three digit prefix. As more businesses and people set up 800 toll free numbers, the numbers began to run out! Now there are toll free numbers that begin with 888, 877 and 866; with 855, 844, 833, 822, and 811 reserved for future toll free numbers when the others are all being used.
Businesses commonly make use of toll free numbers because they have proven to help a business succeed. Giving customers and potential new customers a way to contact a business for free encourages more people to call; and it also presents a professional image. Studies have even been conducted to show that advertisements that use toll free numbers receive a higher response the advertisements that do not use a toll free telephone number in the contact information.
Due to the ease of obtaining a toll free number, and the ability to set it up without any hardware installation, toll free numbers are becoming more popular for home and personal use as well. Parents of college students, and families with relatives living out of the local calling area often choose to get a toll free number to make it easier and more affordable for calling them. Toll free number charges are typically cheaper than collect calls or calling card fees, so it makes sense financially to have a toll free number for these situations.
When a person or company gets a toll free number, they first select their number, then choose a phone number to have their incoming calls forwarded to. The people who dial the toll free phone number are then redirected to the chosen forwarding number- whether that’s a business office, cell phone, or home phone line. With Get800today.com, toll free numbers are pre-paid, which means there are never any surprising bills to worry about.

I will pay 100 to the first person who can enable me to access my hotmail account.
Here's the problem:-
I forgot my password.
When I click the forgot password link it takes me to a page where it asks for my windows live id, this is my email address, it is manc_ill_kid@hotmail.com, its the email account that I cannot access. On this page there is also a captcha box.
When I fill it in it takes me to another page where it only says it will send the reset password information to my manc_ill_kid@hotmail.com email account.
The help link says that there should be options to send the password reset information another email address, but when I do it, this isn't the case.
Also the help link says that there should be an option to answer a secret question to access the password reset information, this option isn't there when I do it.
Its like I've locked myself out, they've changed the locks and put the new keys through the letterbox.
I was in Currys buying a new laptop to replace the broken one, when my phone rang, some job I applied to yesterday, offering me an interview tomorrow. They said they were emailing me the details of where and when, and the email would go to my hotmail account. That's why I so urgently need to access my email. and that's why I'm up for paying a vast sum of money to gain access.

The two companies said Thursday that they are making Ericssons mobile broadband modules which add built-in support for HSPA (High Speed Packet Access) to laptops interoperable with Intels Anti-Theft PC Protection Technology, which is a part of the Intel Centrino 2 with vPro package.
[ Related: Lenovo recently announceda similar service that disables laptops with text messages| Get the latest on mobile developments with InfoWorlds Mobile Report newsletter. ]
Adding support for mobile networks increases the usefulness of Intels Anti-Theft PC Protection Technology, according to Johan Falk, Strategic Relationship Management at Intel.
For the collaboration to yield useful results the work has to be integrated into what Ericsson calls a theft management service, which will become available during the second half of next year.
The service will be able to send an SMS to the mobile broadband module inside the notebook, which then securely transfers the message to Intels Anti-Theft function inside the processor, which takes appropriate actions.
The service will also be able to take advantage of built-in GPS (Global Positioning System) support in the Ericsson mobile broadband module. The location function can, for example, be used to lock the computer when it moves outside a predefined area.
Here the two companies are working with Phoenix Technologies and Absolute Software.
The existing version of Computrace for Intel Anti-Theft PC Protection from Absolute Software can remotely delete data, using customized commands that target specific files or wipes the device clean, before disabling the computer.
Currently, it works with select Lenovo ThinkPad T400 models.
In February, Lenovo became Ericssons first mobile broadband module customer. Since then, Dell and Toshiba have also signed up.

There's just over one week left to the big day and no doubt some of our readers will be putting up their Christmas trees and lights. However it's worth remembering that some types of tree lighting can interfere with your ISPs ADSL broadband connection, which may sometimes cause a loss of connection.
Naturally such lights should be kept at a distance from your broadband router; though ADSL can be quite sensitive and even that may not be enough. So if you're noticing any unusual connection problems since the lights went up then turn them off for awhile and see if the issues reoccur.
One old trick from Nildram (Tiscali) for detecting the interference is to turn an analogue radio to Medium Wave 693 down to 612, which should produce a lot of buzzing when in the vicinity of faulty equipment. Typically you may have more than one source of interference, though this method will not detect them all.

You cant turn on the TV or open a newspaper without seeing another report on the mortgage crisis. This isnt just the problem of the people whose homes are foreclosed - this problem is affecting everyone. Homes are being foreclosed upon in unprecedented numbers, and neighborhoods everywhere are seeing home values dropping as more houses flood the real estate market. Lenders have less money to loan out, and even borrowers with good credit are having problems finding financing. This is a controversial subject, with many people blaming the borrowers for getting in over their heads. But it isnt that simple. In my encounters with clients, these homeowners (or former homeowners) didnt intend to get into this mess. Many faced job and income loss, medical problems or divorce - all problems that were beyond their control. Others didnt realize that A.R.M. rates would rise beyond their ability to pay, or believed brokers and other real estate advisers who told them that they could refinance before the rates increased. No matter the reason, America has a problem that has to be dealt with, and soon. Bills are being introduced into the House and Senate that may hold some relief, with borrowers paying lenders, lenders making a profit, and the government not being the one to provide the bail out. These bills would allow court supervised modification of loans in the United States Bankruptcy Court. Lenders will bear some of the responsibility of this solution in sacrificing higher interest rate returns, but still being paid for the loans at rates that will still provide profits. In fact, keeping people in their homes and preserving a performing loan will help provide a profit that was destined to be lost in the foreclosure. For more information regarding the mortgage crisis and the mortgage solution, please read my article on the BankruptcyLawNetwork, where you will find many articles on this issue as well as other information about bankruptcy.

When I became a Catholic after 20 years of evangelicalism, I realized that many prejudices I had about Catholicism were based on misunderstandings and proof-texts which had been drummed into me to make me feel that somehow as an evangelical my relationship was more authentic than that of a Catholic could ever be.
My evangelical experience in the Body of Christ for 20 years was deep and broad. We attended churches ranging from traditional/liturgical Episcopalian to weeping/wailing Assemblies of God. We held back nothing, but surrendered ourselves to all God wanted us to learn from each of these experiences. In some places we learned that all Catholics were bound for Hell. In some, they were simply misguided foolish people.
Because Tripp and I were active in the pro-life movement, we came into contact with many Catholic families who I could see had an authentic relationship with God. This confused me because it flew in the face of all I'd been taught. They didn't seem foolish to me at all - so I just went with the "misguided" judgment.
As recently as 18 months ago I told someone at this blog that they could not find a relationship with Jesus in the Catholic Church. For that I am deeply sorry. And grateful that my Heavenly Father cares deeply enough about me to not allow me to wallow in my misconceptions. My warning to every Christian is "never say never" - about anything. God is much greater than our little boxes and He loves to prove that to us, doesn't He?
Our family was attending the best evangelical church I'd seen. We were completely happy. I was not looking for anything better when God gave me a directive: to go to Mass. I don't want to get into the whole long story here. Anyone interested can read about my journey (and Tripp's, because after great study, he converted also) by scrolling to the bottom here finding Evangelical to Catholic #1, and reading forward.
Though aware of the unreasonable prejudice toward Catholics, I truly thought that my life spoke for my obedience to God and that somehow I would be spared the judgment of those who'd been my friends. I naively thought that somehow my history might at least cause evangelicals to re-visit their prejudices and take them to God. I was wrong. In the bitter storm following my announcement, many readers left in a great self-righteous huff.
I know a few of you have hung in there and accepted me for who I always was and who I continue to be. I really appreciate that. I hope that for at least a few evangelical readers I am helping to dispel the myth that Catholics cannot know God.
My history is unusual in that in many areas, God has seen fit to give me experience on both sides of the fence: radical leftist/conservative Christian, Zero Population Growth memer/mother of 12, homeschool/public school/ beleiever/nonbeliever, evangelical/Catholic. In my book, Reaching the Left from the Right I speak of building bridges. I really like to discuss ideas - and like to facilitate those discussions in a way that people can feel comfortable listening.
For this reason, I can't let this opportunity go by:
Yesterday, I printed a question from a mother (not a Catholic, btw) who who wondered if I knew of a prayer she could teach her children when an ambulance goes by.
Knowing of none, I did some research but all I could find was the testimony of moms who said a Hail Mary. Deciding to go fishing for something else, I posted the question. Sure enough, several moms suggested the Hail Mary.
I must admit that because I tend to hear things said here through the ears of my evangelical readers as well as my Catholic readers, I cringed. That sounds awful, because I'm not ashamed of saying Hail Mary, but I know there's a misunderstanding and judgment that will be levied by some readers.
But as so often happens, I see God open a door for further discussion.

Manic Depression is another name for Bi-Polar. When an individuals mood swings are very irregular with sudden changes from good to bad this is commonly associated with being Bi-Polar. It is just another in the many forms of depression. Manic depression is not the same as just being sad or upset for over something in particular. Manic depression is more serious than that. The diagnosis of being Bi-Polar is just another stage of the disease of depression. Millions of people in the United States are diagnosed with Manic Depression every year. Typically, some type of depression yearly affects around 17 million Americans.
The draw back is that only a third of the potentially affected will ever seek medical assistance or get some type of diagnosis. If you do not look for help than it is very hard to find a cure. Many Americans are hesitant to confront a disease that is categorized as a mental illness. They do not want to be stereotyped as one who must be out of their mind. Diseases that affect the brain have always been very complicated. It is hard to shake the stigma that comes with the diagnosis. However, as with any form of depression, the affliction does not make you less a person. It does not mean that you are a nut case. It means you have an illness like any other. It can be treated. First it has to be identified.
The causes of all forms of depression are still being examined in the medical profession. It has been shown that depression can be brought on by many possibilities. It is known that biological, genetic, and environmental factors have to be taken into consideration. We know that it seems to be caused by a chemical imbalance on the brain. We also know that stress can play a major role in the advent of depression. Every day we confront events in life that cause us stress. It can be problems at work, in our relationships with those we love or facing the reality of trying to survive week to week. Depression does not play favorites. It can affect the rich and the poor. It is not racist. No color or nationality is free from this illness.
The symptoms for all forms of depression are quite similar. The frequent change in personality, the mood swings that go up and then goes down. The advent of sleeplessness is another sign of depression. The feeling of helplessness, hopelessness and
Desperation. When your ability to function properly at work and at play becomes ever apparent then the possibility of depression is real. There is hope for depression sufferers. You can find help. There are medicines both prescribed and natural that can offer a cure. There are also medical professionals that can help your illness through talk therapy. There are also many support groups that will help you deal with the disease. The first step in the cure is seeking the assistance.

A website can be an easy thing to manage, but without the proper approach, it can also be a hassle-generating failure. So Jon Friedman lists eight points for making your site is attractive to consumers and generally successful.
Since Friedmans ideas are intended for magazines, well skip and combine a few of them here. His first, however - have an attitude - is important for everyone. If you have a good time presenting the content on the Web, your audience will likely enjoy reading and using it, he writes.
A later recommendation - maintain an identity - is necessary to keep in mind while having fun. Your site should stand for something and reflect the tone of your magazine. If your magazine is sarcastic, your site should be sarcastic. If you intend to come across as highly intellectual on newsstands, do the same on the Web, Friedman suggests.
Interactivity is important, too. A website with some sort of tool or game can draw a user dozens of times; one with straightforward information might never get visited again after the data gets saved to a hard drive or printed. And dont forget about usability while dealing with all these other matters.
Magazines are often forced out of the print market, so for them, these pieces of advice represent survival tips. Hopefully theyll lift you well above that into prosperity.

A 2-horsepower Marathon motor is at the heart of this beautiful lathe, and its generous capacities will never restrict you, whether you're working between centers, on the faceplate or outboard.
What sets this lathe apart from its competition is the bed composition. Most in this class are cast iron, but Delta's made this bed of steel, which they say is 20 times torsionally stiffer than the cast iron beds on the other guys. It has a 42-inch bed (distance between centers), and unless you mean to make pool cues, that will accommodate any project on your list. And while it has a 16-inch swing over the bed (that's double the distance from the bed to the center, or the largest diameter piece you can turn), if you need more room than that, you can easily remove the tailstock, slide the sturdy headstock down to the end of the bed and mount your stock without anything in the way.
This lathe features two speed ranges from 0 to 3,000 rpm to suit whatever you're turning. And unlike others in its class, you don't have to manually move the belt to access each range. For larger workpieces or when you need torque, set the switch to the "A" position. For smaller workpieces and when you need serious speed, set the switch to "B." It's a nice, time- and effort-saving feature.
We liked the foot-long tool rest, conveniently placed controls and, of course, the five-year warranty Delta provides. It's a heavy, sturdy piece of machinery, weighing in at 430 pounds, and you'll feel no vibration at the tool rest. If you want even more stability, you can slide 4-by-4s into the pedestal bases and fasten them to the floor. The legs are also designed to accept a piece of 2-by-12 as a shelf, for a convenient place to keep supplies and tools.
The professional will never have to buy another lathe, and the avid hobby turner will fall in love with the lathe all over again.

Proving that you just cant keep a good animated series down, Benders Big Score revives the Futurama crew in a full-length feature (reportedly, the first of four which will later be broken down into individual episodes for television broadcast) chock full of the satiric touches that made the Matt Groening series a cult favorite among sci-fi and animation fans. In true Futurama form, the plot of Big Score is proudly ridiculous: At its core, its about alien telemarketers with a plan to steal Earths most valuable historical objects, who use e-mail viruses to cripple Planet Express and take control of belligerent robot Bender; the latter carries out their scheme via a time-travel code tattooed on Frys backside. This allows for all manner of subplots involving Frys return to the 20 th century, romantic confusion between Fry and Leela (Katey Sagal), and a host of cameos ranging from Kwaanza-bot (Coolio) and Zapp Brannigan to Al Gore (voiced by the real former vice-president, who once again displays an offbeat sense of humor).
Benders Big Score also features a staggering amount of extras that reflect the shows sense of playful anarchy. Most valuable to longtime fans is the feature-length commentary by Groening, writers Ken Keeler and David X. Cohen, director Dwayne Carey-Hill, and cast members Billy West (Fry), DiMaggio, and Phil LaMarr, which provides a wealth of information on the films production as well as plenty of laughs from the voice actors. Futurama Returns! is a live comic book reading by the cast in front of an enthusiastic convention audience, while A Terrifying Message from Al Gore is a short animated promo featuring the ex-veep in an animated promo for his Inconvenient Truth documentary (Gores commentary for this short is worth the DVDs sale price alone), and Bite My Shiny Metal X is an amusing, tongue-in-cheek lesson on the mathematics used to deliver the shows futuristic touches. Perhaps the oddest extra is a full-length episode of Everybody Loves Hypnotoad, a sitcom based around the bizarre title creature that will provoke equal amounts of laughter and exasperation. A small battery of deleted scenes, new character design sketches, and a five-minute promo shot for Comic-Con round out the extras. Paul Gaita
